face="Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif" color=#663366 size=2>The McMenamins
are an indie brother-sister duo, endearing themselves to audiences
across Australia, delivering original acoustic music in a storytelling
and often foot-stompin’ style. After forming for the 2003 Woodford Folk
Festival they have since released their self-titled debut album (out
through MGM distribution) which has gained airplay on Triple J, fbi and
community radio stations. Their first national tour in October 2005 saw
them opening for Missy Higgins and Ben Lee. The McMenamins’ honeyed
vocal harmonies and instrumental line up allow them to create their own
brand of alternative, rockin' country-folk, which incites an awesome
audience reaction time after time. </FONT><FONT

for song writing stems from a childhood full of lazy afternoons on the
mid north coast where the only thing to do was sit on the veranda and
play guitar! Her songs reflect these long summer days and aim to go deep
into the Australian psyche, exploring what it means to be a young person
in this unique country. Her song “Grains of Sand” is used on Foxtel’s
‘Aurora Channel’ as their promotional song. Jess has played at various
youth festivals and university events and she recently supported US
artist “That One Guy” when he last toured the east coast of
Australia.</FONT></P>
